Rebuilding top end.

Post by devobrew »

Good day all;
My name is Kenny and I live in Denver,CO. I have a 1972 Honda AZ600
coupe and the compression rings on the driver side piston are broke. I
was thinking of rebuilding the top end with the oversized pistons(1mm
bigger .15 taller). Has anyone had any experience with these? A quick
search has shown me there may be some crankshaft issues? If so does
any one know where I may purchase oem pistons?
Another note is that the slot for the upper cam chain slipper pin has
worn larger, is this critical and repairable? This has been my daily
driver for years and I am anxiuos to get her back on the road.
thank you for your time.

I've found some rare stuff at www.majestichonda.com. Dealer is in
Rhode Island, I think. They have found some parts I needed for my 79
Civic and 72 z600.
Good luck!

Majestic Honda's 600 parts have been exhausted. You can't find much
more than oil filters from dealers any more.

All dealers list the parts, but when you try to buy them they'll let you know that the parts are unavailable.

Thanks Gerry;
Some questions; Have you used these types before? What was your
experience? How much are they? By chance do you have an over-sized
cylinder;it would save me finding a machinist.
thanks
