Honda 600's came in clear & gold zinc, and no rhyme or reason
which parts were clear or gold as 1 car had both colors. Even zinc in the weather
will discolor. When I build carbs I used gold zinc parts but lacquer clear coat
the whole thing to help with discolorarion.
Nickel will turn grey over time and might look closer to cadmium years later.
