These are NOS pinion bushings, coming out of the bag the rubber is sticky, and pulling away from the bronze bushing it was vulcanized to. So it’s not the lubricant that is causing the rubber to liquefy causing the steering to be loose, it is rubber degrading over time. The only thing to do is put in a new bushing. Both
