Laurie Randall was asking me some time back about wiper blade refills for the coupe, and since then I've been thinking...
When I bought wiper blades a few months back (Autozone), I purchased 13 inch ones. (Seems it's darn difficult to find blade refills anymore -- most places, other than maybe full-service gas stations, only sell the full blade assemblies.) Anyway, when I installed the 13-inch Bosch blades I discovered that the one on the passenger side bumped into the windshield seal when running the wipers, so I ended up getting an 11-inch blade for that side. The 13-inch one worked okay on the driver's side, though it comes pretty darned close to the windshield seal.
Measuring the rubber wiper element in the stock Honda blades, they actually come out to about 12-1/2 inches rather than 13 inches, which probably explains the Bosch seal-bumping issue, as the rubber in the Bosch blades are a full 13 inches long.
(Looking on Amazon [for what that info source is worth], I see that both 12 and 13-inch Bosch wiper blades are listed as fitting the Honda 600. 11-inch blades are listed as NOT fitting the 600, BTW.)
What do you folks do about wiper blades/refills, and has anyone experienced the same issue I ran into?
Thanks in advance,
Richard

Re: z600 wiper blades
Hi Richard,
The Z600 coupes used to have a wiper blade which measured at 10 inches when new. I have been using the 11 inch blade (which I believe was used on a VW bug). Others on this board have been buying oversized blades and trimming them. If you buy one 22 inch blade, you can create two 11 inch blades.
It is getting more difficult to find the style of blades found on our cars at the general department stores (WalMart, Target, KMart) since they are aiming for the newer style cars which are what you see mostly on the road which use a thinner blade.
good luck,
Dale

Re: z600 wiper blades
Hi Dale;
I went into O Reilly's the other day and showed them what I needed and they have them in the back. I use the same ones for all the older vehicles. E v en my wife's 2002 Cadillac uses the same ones. Just cut to fit.

Re: z600 wiper blades
Hi Dale -- When you say "blades" and talk about cutting them, I assume that you actually mean "blade refills." (I always found the vocabulary with wipers to be confusing, too. I initially assumed that "blade" only referred to the rubber strip that contacts the glass, but when the manufacturers say "blade" they typically are referring to the entire thing that mounts onto the end of the wiper arm. "Refill is the typical name for the rubber strip that contacts the glass.)
As far as the full blade assemblies go, it does appear that some sources get it wrong, at least for the coupe, and say that the 600 takes 13" blades. (Rock Auto, Auto Zone, Advance Auto, and Amazon all list 13" blade assemblies for the Honda 600.) As I said, I found that the 13" blade can be a bit too long on my z600, at least on the passenger/right side, bumping into windshield seal.
Nobutoshi recently told me that he uses Trico 44-130 (13") in the original Honda 600 wiper blade assembly, so I ordered a pair and they work. They do stick out a little toward the wiper arm pivot (inner end), but they still seem to work fine. I imagine that I could cut them to fit a bit better, but they seem to work okay as is, and they don't protrude out to hit the windshield seal, like the 13" full blade assemblies do. (Since the anchor point for the blade refill is at the outer end of the original Honda blade assembly, the refills' extra protrusion is at the inner end of the assembly, so no problem with bumping into the windshield seal with these refills.) I imagine that a 12" (or 11"?) blade refill would match the original Honda blade assembly length a bit better, or just cut these to length.
I do wonder whether this is an issue with the sedan, though. Since the windshield and wiper geometry may be a little different on the sedan, perhaps the aftermarket 13" wiper blade assemblies would work okay on sedans, while they are a bit too large for the coupes? Maybe one of the sedan owners in the group knows the answer.
