How much do you recommend be added per oil change?

Re: ZDDP
I use ZDDPlus and they say using one bottle is good per oil change on a 5-6 quart system to bring todays oil back to what we used to have in the oil years ago. I think using a full bottle on a system of 3.2 quarts is overkill, I believe you can use about 2/3 to 3/4 of a bottle of additive per change and be safe and save the rest of your bottle for anotehr day. It is up to you I think if you feel safer using a full bottle due to the age and maintenance of your 600 I do not believe you will hurt the oil or engine.

Re: ZDDP
One other thing to note - the ZDDPlus folks indicate that the remaining ZDDPlus in a bottle that's been opened can deteriorate (through oxidation, I presume) over time, even with the lid screwed back on apparently.
(I've contemplated whether sealing the bottle up in a Ziplock bag that's had most of the air vacuumed out of it would help this, but I don't know. That would only help if there's otherwise gas transfer past the lid, which I'm not sure would be the case. It could be that just the oxygen in the bottle that's been partly used would be enough to cause the deterioration.)
If you change oil at least once every six months - which we probably should being anyway, at least in the case of conventional oils - maybe the deterioration wouldn't be enough to be concerned with. I speculate, of course, but the ZDDPlus folks do claim that the product will deteriorate over time in a partly used bottle.

Re: ZDDP
I just checked the ZDDPlus web site about this - it's actually the absorption of water (from the air) that will degrade ZDDPlus. Once the seal is broken on the bottle. It's possible that the the screw-on lid doesn't seal the bottle as well as the glued foil seal. Also, if the humidity is higher, the air that flows into the empty space in the bottle can introduce moisture. This is similar to what can happen with bottles of brake fluid.
The vacuumed-out Ziplock bag I suggested earlier bag might help, I guess - *if* the bottle is opened in a low-humidity environment.
