Good evening Microcar & Minicar enthusiasts,
Please let us know who is planning on attending the Gould's Sixteenth
Annual Microcar & Minicar Classic Event in Newton (near Boston),
Massachusetts in two weeks?
All microcars & minicars are welcome, and can compete in their
appropriate classes.
This is an extremely unusual automotive event, chock full or tours and
activities. This is not some "park & polish" car show on a hot asphalt
parking lot. Rather, is it a Europen style driving event with four
microtours, and many activites on lush green lawn venues, with lots of
amazing cars, interesting people, and fabulous food.
Friday evening begins with a wine, cheese and microbrew arrival
reception, where people unload and prepare their cars, and meet new
and old friends from all around the world, and eat and drink a
surprising array of unusual wines, or microbrews if you prefer, and
international foods. The neighborhood will be buzzing with activity as
we share rides in each other's cars, and the two stroke engines handle
the mosquito control!
Saturday begins with fresh coffee and pastries followed by our short
tour to the Museum of Transportation in Brookline, MA, where we show
the cars on the lawn and give rides to the spectators, followed by the
awards ceremony. Saturday afternoon is our huge eclectic international
Memphis barbecue, followed by our short tour through scenic country
roads to an ice cream shack, where we can display our unusual cars to
a fresh audiance of enthusiasts, followed by Chas' Late Night World
Famous Two Stroke Frozen Margarita Party. Sunday begins with fresh
coffee and pastries followed by our long tour (120 miles) on gorgeous
scenic country roads to Wachusett Mountain, and lunch at the Mountain
Barn, followed by possible visits to the Collings Foundation Air
museum, or Charles & Nancy's' own Martchbox Motors Microcar Museum.
Then back to the Gould's to freshen up before a parting dinner at an
exceptional outdoor Mexican Cantina on Sunday night.
We have a great rate at a fabulous, new luxurious, local hotel, and a
"Seats & Asses Program" (SAAP), so that all registered participants
get to ride in the unusual microcars or minicars even if you don't
bring one. We also have "Gould's Certified Roadside Assistance
Program" (G-CRAP), so that our competent mechanics can keep your cars
running like a top all weekend long, and we have safe, secure, flatbed
trailers on call for those few mechanical complications which we
cannot solve "MacGyver style" by the side of the road. We will have
lots of microcar stuff to purchase including some special new microcar
products this year.
Your registration fee includes all tours and activities, Friday
evening food and beverages (beer, wine, bottled water, soda, juice),
Saturday afternoon Memphis barbecue, beverages (beer wine, margaritas,
bottled water, soda and juice), as well as coffeee and pastries on
Saturday and Sunday morning. This event is a blast, and I guaranty
that you will want to return year after year.
