Blue 1972 Coupe For Sale

Post by Dave »

I have to sell my Coupe as I am losing my storage space. The car runs well and is in very good shape. I bought it a few years back and had it shipped to me from Texas. There is little to no rust on the car.
The color is not original, I have been told that it is 1960's Corvette Pacific Blue Pearl. There are some spots on the car that will need to be re-painted. The interior is in very good condition, all complete.
Last year I had some mechanical work done which included replacing the drive shafts, belts, pulleys, front brake caliper and pads, rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders. Many parts were bought thru Ray Cave, Miles and Mike O'Connor.
The car is currently being stored in Queens County, New York City. I am asking $2900.- or best offer. I have not advertised this car elsewhere yet, figured I would reach out to the group first. I will try to answer as many questions as I can. Thanx...Dave Kohn

Hi Dave:
Your coupe looks good.  How many miles?  What issues are there mechanically?  I have two that I have been wanting to restore but just do not have the time.  I am thinking about buying yours and use mine for any parts it may need and then sell the two I have.  Please let me know any concerns or issues with the car or body and I will get back to you.
Thanks
Russ

Hello Russ:
The car shows almost 89,000 on the clock. I do not think that the mileage is all there, I believe the speedo was changed at some time but cannnot be sure.
I have a friend who is a better mechanic than I am. Last time he worked on the car, he disconnected the front power booster as mine was not operational. So the front brakes do not stop with the assistance of the booster. Something that should be corrected. The oil and filter have less than 50 miles on it. Tires are near new and they are Kuhmos.
The rear hatch on my car has a piece of plexiglass in it, not glass. That is how I got it. The front windshield is intact but has one or 2 scratches that need to be buffed out. The battery is good and I have a battery tender on it always. The carpet for the floors was old and shabby so I bought a new set from Mike O'Connor but it is not installed. The pervious owner removed the stock radio and installed an AM/FM/Cassette player.
If you have 2 other cars, sounds to me like you should have ample parts to make this car pristine. Contact me off group and we can talk more in detail. I would really like to keep the car, but refuse to allow it to sit outside.
Thanx...Dave
