Just so we are all on the same page, the Honda 600 cylinder block is not sleeved they are part of the casting.

I think you mave mis-read what was written. The cylinder has a steel (or maybe iron) sleeve or liner. I just walked out and stuck a magnet on it. The rest of the cylinder including the cooling fins is made of aluminum. Now, they may have cast the aluminum around the liner, but it's also possible that the liner is inserted after the aluminum was cast. Frankly, it doesn't matter to me which way it was made, the ferrous sleeve broke during my piston removal.
I said nothing about the block.
