Sedan on the TV show Magnum PI - see it here

Post by mterrens »

Almost two years ago I posted a German-language version of scenes from an episode from the early-80s TV show, Magnum, P.I., which featured a Honda 600 Sedan (Hawaiian version I assume!).  I was able to get my hands on an English version and again re-cut it to include only the scenes with the Sedan in it - almost nine minutes worth!  Check it out here...

There was just a one second glimpse of a Hondamatic floor shifter in one scene.

Of course I am guessing.  It turned over fine but didn't fire a lick.
  Had just made a trip of about 80--90--miles and ran great.
  When it wouldn't start I got a test light and probed the points and no fire. Only because I was there I opened the points with the probe.
When I released them and checked again I had fire and then it busted right off.
So I assumed stuck points.  Any other options.  Sure glad it waited till I was in  my driveway to do it.  Any other ideas for me to check.  I kinda worry about going down a long ways from home as I may run out of oxygen.
I don't do so good then.
     Uh Oh.  Had yesterdays problem on my mind and thought you were referring to that.
      On the trans,  I never did observe them shifting gears in all the traffic.
    Will take another look and check closer.

Hi Cotton;
The early Hondamatic's, the ones sent to Hawaii, had column shifters using the two wire shifting system.  The later floor shifter was for the single wire shifting system and wasn't manufactured until after the first 700 automatic transmissions.  The shift counsel option was for the standard transmissions.
