Hi All,
I received my replacement coil today and with wasting no time I
installed it and my N600 now runs!
I checked between the two coils and my old coil had 28k of resistance
and the "new" one had 32k.
I also ran in it through the gears since I have it on jack stands and
all the gears work along with the speedometer "and" odometer, which
means my mileage is correct and this car has been sitting waaaay
longer than I was told (4 years).
I had found a receipt in the glove box from around 1989 from a local
Midas muffler shop and at the time it had 33,607 miles on it and now
it has 33,654.
The alternator seems to be working but the voltage doesn't hit 13
until the engine has some good revs, no tach so I dont know what RPM
I'm at other than very far from idle, but the engine will run with
the battery disconnected, so that is a good sign. I may try to check
and clean the brushes along with the stator armature.
Another great thing was after sitting for while after I warmed it up
was that the engine just fired right up and idled nicely, so the carb
appears to be in good shape too.
Next up, the brakes.
Mike
Finally ! It runs !
Re: Finally ! It runs !
Thanks again to everyone that helped with my ignition issues, that
really helped in getting this up and running again.
