Name that part #9

Post by riceburner006 »

Hello Bill! What do you have this time? This is the catch retainer on
both coupe and sedan door panels. There are more than one.

Riceburner is correct, this is the retainer for the side panels for the
clips which hold them to the doors on both Coupe and Sedan. The problem is
that after a time they become warn and crack the flat lip off. But they
only become warn with removing the side panels without taking a little care
while doing so.
So here we are again, the last part, so I guess everyone is going to let him
have the engine compartment labels. So watch for the next Name that part
#10.

Bill and group friends:
Let's change the game in one regard to make it more fun for the rest of us:
let's post our answers to Bill in private and let him post the wrong answers to the group so that we can all have a chance to guess at what the part might be, and have a good laugh together at the wrong answers.  It isn'y any fun to see Riceburner's answer posted before your contest introduction announcing the new part has been posted.
I like the game, though I am not awake at 9pm to get a fair chance when it first gets posted.
Thanks,

OK;
First, lets end "Name That Part (Game Two)" Riceburner won it again for a total of 4 wins and has a set of engine compartment labels coming to him.  This win also excludes Riceburner from the following "Name That Part" games which follow.
I appreciate what Marshall is saying and find it good to hear that members of the group like the game.  My day job and being on the west coast kind of makes this a very late game for members of the group on the east coast of USA, when I post it at 9 pm PST.  Not to leave the members in the other parts of the World.   Having every one send their answers in to me and I post the correct answer brings up a whole other nest of issues, which I don't even what to venture into.  And, what we are talking about is leveling the playing field, which is hard to do when the game works on the basis of knowledge, experience and an aggressive behavior.
I thought about making the part harder to define, but that only makes it harder for every one.  Getting more than 4 correct answers makes it a long game and although that will give every one a better chance its still up for grab's.  As to Riceburner getting the answer in before I posted the question, well, I didn't get it posted as fast as I wanted to, while the part was posted early.  So, his aggressive behavior caught me my a few minutes.
I am open to suggestions.
The next "Name That Part" (Game 3), will start Sunday evening.
