bill colford [the royal smart person] has ask the
correct question - 'are you using a bolt to secure the
shifting lever to the engine shaft??'
last week, i had the same problem with a 'jury rig'
connection and the problem was the bolt -- you have to
use the correct pin [split pin] you can get it at NAPA
part number is CR-24X [5/16x3/4]. squeese it into the
lined-holes with a pair of channel lock pliers [i
don't recommend using a punch pin and hammer].
