Original battery?

Post by Chuck Dean »

Original battery?
Hi everyone,
What brand of battery did the Honda 600 Coupe come from the factory? And are there any reproduction batteries available?
Thanks,
Chuck (mobile)

now I know this may not be right  but I used a lawn mower  battery so I did not have to change  battery cables or ends  it has plenty  of cold cranking for  it  and fits pretty good  just putting it out there  but there out there just did not want to pay 200 bucks for a battery  with the right post  I looked on amazon  they had the right ones  dry cell or jell cell

I currently have a maintenance free diehard battery in my Honda, but I'm looking for a battery, when I need to replace it, that looks like the original battery. This is strictly anesthetics thing.

May be able to remove the guts from an original battery and place a smaller workable battery inside wired to the original posts. Worked well for out show Indian motorcycles. Not sure if this will work in your situation however.

As Eric said, Yuasa battery came as original. You can still buy these.
If you can see the attached picture, it's in Eric's green AZ600.

Cool, I'm glad to see they are still available.
My next question is how well will this battery hold up compared to the newer no maintenance batteries?
This car isn't driven much, but here in Arizona the desert heat play's havoc on car batteries.
I am thinking I should remove the battery in the summer, and bring it into the air conditioning, and maybe a trickle charge to boot.
Any thoughts?

Bummer! I have gone to Batteries Plus and Interstate Battery with no luck.
I have also tried to find them online, but I'm not finding any in the USA.
I think they may be phasing them out for  maintenance free models.

Last time I had to convince them to order one as they were hesitant.   That was 2 years ago though.
