parts sources

Post by dwb_07 »

I posted this general question once before and got no response. So I will try again in an even more general form
Who do you guys get your parts from? Items such as gaskets, oil seals and o-rings.
Many thanks for your response.

Thanks for the many responses and I apologize for for not making my question clear.
I am not asking who sells N600 parts. I want to know who you guys have used and recommend for parts to rebuild engines.
Eric offered the most detail but I still don't know if these sources are his recommended sources that he has successfully used.
Right now I need cylinder head gasket(12251-568-050) and cylinder gasket(12191-568-020)

i used the paper gaskets from steve allen on my personal motor and haven't had a single drop of oil ever and its been over a year. steve allen  Hes the same guy i got my exhaust gaskets from and again no leaks and look to be holding up great.
im 99% sure i got my head gasket from bill colford(
billmyong@...
)  he's taken great pride in making sure that these gaskets are identical to the originals and wouldn't let an inferior product hit the market with his name attached to it.
my cam housing gaskets are in the beginning stages of production and i have been running them on a few owners engines to test durability and it is the same gasket i run on my personal car.  i have a few currently available and hope to do the full run when a few more hours of real world use has been completed and gaskets re inspected.  again last thing i want is to have my name attached to a crap product.
i bought some small oil seals from honda600carparts.com and haven't had any issues. with them.  some people have mixed feelings about them because of the directionality compared to originals but me personally i haven't had any issues over the last year plus with oil leaks anywhere on my car.
hope this helps
