Z600 Taillight Bulb Socket Replacement

Post by dino246 »

Both of my 2 Z600's reverse light sockets are corroded and plastic are melted and will not stay on the taillight housing anymore.
I asked our regular parts sources for good used OEM ones but no luck with them. But I found a replacement socket from Auto Parts Warehouse. By Dorman - parts number RB84808. $10.96 each plus $6.95 shipping but an order over $50 is free shipping. They also have a dual contact socket for brake lights at $13.46 each. They are white plastic instead of black one for original Honda. Site link below or www.autopartswarehouse.com and search "bulb socket"

I have seen the taillight housing break apart and not hold the sockets but this will be a bigger issue. Luckly both of my Z600 have good enough housings and holding for now.
Wires comes with red and black. You can cut and connect red to green/black stripe and black to black for easy solution. I chose not to cut factory wires. You will have to remove green/black stripe wire pin from connector and remove black wire from original socket. It's not hard to do.
