Engine tranplant for Coupe possible?

I was wondering if anyone has put an engine from another car into a Coupe. I was told by a knowledgeable member from this group that it was next to impossible for the Coupe but more likely for the sedan since there's more room in the sedan's engine bay.
I was thinking of something like the Chevy's Geo Metro 3 cylinder, 5 speed engine. I understand that these engines can work quite well when transplanted into a classic Mini. I don't want to change the look of car, but wouldn't mind modifying the engine bay abit as needed.

Ask Eddie at honda600-at-optonline.net. He was recently planning on trying to put in a subaru justy engine (3 cylinder engines with cvt trans). I do not know how it went or if he did it.

Take a look at this. Its a Sedan in Thailand travelling at 65mph fitted with a Daihatsu Mira 660cc turbo engine and also the Daihatsu front end.
