you seam to have all the answers. But I have used the VW shock and the car rides stiff because the shock isnt load rated for the weight of the 600. and the body has to be modified to get the vw shock to fit. this shock will be built to OEM specs size and load rate Im also working on getting other parts repo'ed Im tyred of basteredizing my cars and it seams there are lots of the cars left that people would restore if the hard parts were avaliable. thanks Kevin

I agree with the hard ride. The Honda 600 rear end weight is not much. I have used other shocks in the past even ones which have no upper dust covers. I always had to add a 100 pound bag of sand in the trunk to compensate.
The rear leaf springs handle the weight and the shock just slows down the spring action. What about shocks from a Honda Goldwing motorcycle or some other heavy cruiser bike? We used to be able to get Koni shocks which you could adjust the ride.
