I need to trailer my 600 home. Help!
I was planning to rent an auto transport trailer from Uhaul in order
to trailer my 600 home. But Uhaul insists that the 600 is too small
or narrow for the trailer. Is this true? Any suggestions for what I
can put my new little car on? Thanks!

You could try a smaller trailer.

Where are you located and where is the car?

UHaul told me the same thing about their transporter. I borrowed a trailer
big enough for the little car, and strong enough to carry an oversized
garden tractor (it only weighs around 1400 pounds). OK, the trailer I used
was big enough to haul a real farm tractor on it, but you get the idea.
The transporter that you drive the front end on and let the rear wheels
trail along is probably narrow enough but I was concerned about the short
wheel base, which could allow the ramps to bang up under the car, causing
who knows what damage.
The car trailer they have may actually be too wide between the tracks. I
never measured.

Rent one of the 12 x 6 enclosed trailers from Uhaul. I hauled a
coupe back from Los Angeles to Kansas City with no problems.

Were you able to tie the car down in that trailer?
I built a little garage (12 x 6 feet) inside my big garage for my N600 and
there isn't enough room for me to pass by the car. I push the car in and
pull it out by hand. I did put a door in the side of the garage that, when
open, allows me to open the car door and get in and out when I am too
lazy to push or pull.

Re: I need to trailer my 600 home. Help!
It was tied down. You are right it was a tight squeeze getting in to
tie it up. I just left the windows down and pushed it up into the
trailer. Seems like I had a 4x4's cut to sit infront of the front
tires and strapped it from back to front off of the rear axle shackles
and then front subframe back to the rear of trailer. This was probably
6-7 years ago. I have since just started having them shipped by
FedX/Passport.

I have used both the auto transport trailer and the "tow dolly" from
Uhaul to transport AN600s. They fit on the rails of the trailers I got,
but it was close. Perhaps there is some variation in the trailers they
have available? I told them what cars I was hauling and they had no
problem. Perhaps you could measure between the tires and find a trailer
on their lot that would work.

The car is located in New Hampshire and it only needs to go to
Massachusetts. Only about 85 miles.

I can't use the Uhaul tow dolly because the car isn't registered. And
the Uhaul customer service person outright said I couldn't put a 600
on it. How long ago did you use a Uhaul auto transport trailer? The
current Uhaul reservations system is what is tripping me up. If I was
to rent the transport trailer to try it out, I would have to lie and
specify that I was moving around another kind of car.
