Where to get tires mounted?

Called up a few shops, none of them can mount tires onto a 10" rim.
Any advice? Crowbar time? :)

That's odd, my local tire shop has no problem with that.
How about a lawn mower repair shop? Or a place that deals in RVs and/or
trailers?

If you take it to a shop and they try it they probably can. I'm a tech at a repair facility and we thought the machine couldn't do it but it did and I can ballance them too. Try it.    James.

I second this comment - I've had tires done at 3 different shops - one was a Les Schwab (sp?) - with no problems at all.

Located in San Mateo (SF Bay Area, CA)... I've only called mom & pop
shops so far, so there is a chance they just don't know what their
equipment is capable of. I was trying to avoid some of the tire-
specific shops around here because they charge an arm and a leg for
mounting and balancing.
I just called Costco, and they said they can handle it, just nothing
past a 24" rim :) And for only $10/wheel if I heard correctly.

I hand mount my own tires, it's easy. If they wobble then I get them
balanced. Alot of shops will tear the bead. When I lived in Santa
Clara I had Winston mount 4 tires. By the time I got home they were
all flat. They didn't clean the rust off the rims and had ripped 2 of
the beads.
When I go visit dad in Menlo Park, I'd be happy to assemble your
tires to your rims provided the rims are clean (no globby rust).

Wow, thanks for the offer! I ended up taking the wheels to Costco
this morning though, and sure enough, $40 total for a mount and
balance for all four. Was nice to have them dispose of the tires,
too.
