Honda Z original or custom

Post by Joseph Corsinita »

I'm getting my Z600 re painted and I have a set of Honda Z GT Mirrors. The question is should I live the car original like it woes before the accident or should I put the
Z GT Mirrors and put a wood steering wheel.
thanks for your input

Hi Jose,
Bill is right, it's your car - do what you want to enjoy it.
The one piece that I do have to have to add is how clean/original is the car to begin with? The car I used for Bonneville had a "salvaged" title, and was actually built from two cars before I got it. This made it easier to strip out the inside and remove all those parts - the car really wasn't worth much before we started.
If you happened to start with a car that was really cherry to begin with (lots of garage time, little rust, very clean interior) I'd say think hard before you modify it. Fewer and fewer of those are around.
But if the car isn't perfect shape odds are you'll spend more trying to get it there (time + labor) than you could pick one up for (with patience and some travel time.)
