HI Miles,I just read your message on crankshafts, and this subject
really interests me. I guess its because of their failures and all
the grief it caused me and many others. To date I wore out 4-5
cranks in otherwise exc. running motors.(always on the clutch side!
I pressed one apart many years ago just so see how the oil passages
work. The one I took apart looked similar to your pictures of the bad
journal. The journals could be built up and machined, but where do you
get the select fit rollers and cage? I know a guy who rebuilds 2-
stroke cranks easily with no complications,so long as the side
clearance and verticle clearances are OK. It seems that if you catch
it v.early the rod is in fair shape-especialy the smallend-v.durable!
