How easy is it for our hondas to jump timing? I tried to start my 72
N600 after letting it sit for two months. The car started very
hard. Afterward, it would idle fine but not rev up beyond ~2,500
rpm. (this is just a guess). Later, while checking for the problem
I heard and felt the timing chain jump as I turned the crankshaft at
the generator bolt. Sure enough, the cam wheel was not lining up
when the crank was at the "T" mark on the generator housing. Now,
here's my question: Which direction should I turn the crank when
lining up timing marks? Would turning the crank in the wrong
direction contribute to the jumped chain? What should I look for or
do to keep the chain from jumping in the future? Joel
