Starter Parts

Post by timk11 »

I can get all the New Bendixes & Solenoids you could ever want for
$30ea or less if you want some qty. They are imports from my supplier
and I have been using them/selling them since 1981. They have the
correct size gear on them not to be confused with Datsun which is 1mm
fatter and don't work. I know the original Hitachi's are the best but
are fewer around these days. I list the imports in my catalog for
sale, also have set of 4 starter brushes for $5.00.
I also have some 30 pieces of new Honda 600 Bendix that are too fat.
They are supposed to be Honda 600, which is what they are labeled.
They can be precision ground down to work on Honda 600. The inside of
gear matches measurement specs of the 600, so it would work. $5ea if
you buy them all.
You should post that primary hub repair in here. Can you sleeve the
original aluminum oil pump rods?

Hi Miles;
On the Bendix, are you saying the gear teeth are correct but the clutch
is too fat? or?
On the eccentric/oil pump rod fix, we went with the eccentric because there
is more metal there, the rod can be sleeved, but if the rod is otherwise
sound, then making the eccentric slightly oversized to match will be the
same and should be stronger.
