How to?

Post by alarconlujan »

Hi all,
Well, i want just to take apart the carburettor from the
motor. I have removed both nuts but there is a hose pipe to the air
cleanor from the servo, how to remove this? And choke cable one?
Thank you

How to?

Post by alarconlujan »

Hello all,
Last day i was working on my recently Honda Z Coupe project and
i was trying to take out the dashboard, but i got a problem. The
Starter cable and control obstructs the dashboard. The control cable
from the starter has two threads that i unscrew, but i cant take the
dashboard out. Do anyone know how to dismantle it?
Thank you very much
P.S.: Where is the chassis mint? Not the plaque

Take out the glove box, remove fuse box - I think there is hidden
phillips screws under there, also must remove steering column and
radio - more hidden screws, lots of hidden screws to remove.

Hi Miles,
Thank you very much, I removed every screw but the starter
control and cable is still there so i can take it. The dash im
talking its the first one, the hard plastic one, where the
speedometer goes attached. Its almost removed except from the
starter cable that its still there although i unscrew both screw
that has on it, one outside and the other inside. I will made a photo
and show you, thanks again, cheers,
Fernando

I can sympathize! I'm in the same spot with my Z coupe. The
inside's stripped to the metal except for the overhead console and
the dash. The dash is *almost* out. What I'm worried about is getting
it back in! I had about 1 and 1/2 inches of working room to disengage
the cables.... I have no idea how I'll get them back where they
belong. =)

BTW: Any tips on taking out the overhead console and headliner? It's
in bad need of replacement....

Remove dome lens, under it is only 1 screw which holds in the
console, slide console back, unplug color coded wires and you're
done.
Remove mirror with care, it's on a tapered dovetail and I believe it
slides to the front, the base plate is plastic and very brittle.
After mirror is off you can remove the 2 screws for it.
Headliner unfortuately is lipped under the windshield glass, so about
the only way to get it out is by removing the glass. You can cheat
when you reinstall maybe by contact cementing the headliner under the
rubber but not under the glass.
Dash cables: remove choke & tach cables from the engine before
attempting dash removal. Dash harness as I recall unplugs at firewall
but the handbrake sensor wires are a bit to deal with. I did an re-
install on a guy's car, I quoted him 2 hours but it took me 4.
