There are lots of shops just north of the US/Mexico boarder that do just that, but charge carrying fees.  Problem  is you never know what type of job your going to get.  Copper/Nickel/Chrome is best, but many shops skip the nickel plating…

I am not opposed to sending to Mexico or close to it as long as its affordable (my plan is to get all chrome parts rechromed at once. I.e. bumper bolts, side marker surround and if possible, the round badges on the sides and whatever I am forgetting). I can handle something that is less than $500. Its been so long since I have had any rechroming done that I dont know it thats reasonable or not. I know $1450 for 2 bumpers isnt (in my mind).
Thats why I am still asking if anyone has recently had parts played and what is the cost.
As mentioned, Mexico is fine, but I really need a lead on who to contact. Please, can anyone supply a phone number or website?
My 2 cars are nice enough that I want the new chrome look. As a stopgap, the simichrome route will have to do. One of these cars (orange) was dismantled by a Honda dealership with intention of making a show car. And I do mean dismantled ...
The other (blue) is a basically rust free car that was garaged for much of its life.
Both have completely rebuilt engines with new Arias pistons.
Thanks guys

Hi, I am a truck driver and one of my stops was a company that did chrome work (I used to deliver chemicals to them several years ago).  I noticed that they always had classic car bumpers and other assorted bits that they had re-chromed (and it was really good work). Here is a link to their web page if you want to give them a call (they are in Cleveland, Ohio).  Hope this helps.

If you are getting all rechromed, it will be very costly. I have done 2 sets of everything for my car as one set for spare unless I have NOS parts. Some places only do bumpers and many places wouldn't do on pot metals (license plate lights housings).
1. Inner and outer door handles 2. Quarter window mounting nuts/bolts and hinges 3. Headlight rims and heads of mounting bolts (Yes, I had them chromed) 4. Side marker bezels 5. Front turn indicator housings (I had NOS ones) 6. License plate light housings 7. Bumpers and front bumper bolts 8. Taillight rims (I had NOS ones) 9. Shifter 10. Lug nuts and washers for Pos-A-Traction wheels if you usethem Maybe I missedsomething but should be close to all of them for Z600.

The Micro Group here in the Detroit area has Hajjar Plating Service in Wayne Mi. They have done bumpers and various other chrome pieces on two of my restoration projects and do very good work with reasonable prices. Example front bumper for my 67 Firebird (Very large bumper/grille combination) for less than $500. Call Walt at XXX-XXX-XXXX. Hes a good guy, honest and they do good work and stand behind it at least they certainly have for me.
