Re: Digest Number 3235
Re: Digest Number 3235
An auto mechanic can't help you. The 5 components are closely similar to motorcycle parts. You would need either a bike mechanic or an auto-electric specialist. If it is the armature or stator you will need the special rotor puller tool.
The whole process of testing each item takes about 10 min once everything is unplugged and brushes removed.
There are lines on the brushes for minimum length, new ones extend about 5/8" out. Not really a test for the regulator unless car is running or just by replacing it but you already have a new one. The rectifier gets tested for continuity and polarity and stator tested for continuity and short to found same with rotor.

Re: Digest Number 3235
Hi Ellias , I would appreciate it if you could please provide me the name of the place where you could get this part or pars for the Honda from the Netherlands.
I have a N360 and a Z600 , based in England its very difficult to get any part for these cars. Most of my parts come from USA and some from Japan.

Re: Digest Number 3235
Bharat, what parts are you after? I may be able to point you in the direction of some. I have been working on T & N360's for about 25 years. Last week I completed a full rebuild on my spare engine and given it a test run.

Eli,
It's not a good idea to bag on other Honda experts in groups. You could ask around off groups. I have known Tim, his father Hugh, and his uncle Randy since the early '80s. I have been to Tim's house, have sold him rebuilt master cylinders back when I did that, have a working relationship with him. I am sure he just wanted to help you with your problem.
You could try this guy down your way. He used to call me for parts and said he would help others with Honda 600's. Glenn's Alignment in Costa Mesa, XXX-XXX-XXXX http://eglenns.com/ He won't have parts but can help you.
