HI Eric;
The Set ring Part # 41335-551-010 (80MM SET RING) can cause the leak your referring to if it is placed so the gap is at the bottom. Even original Honda seals will leak. If the set rings were put in while the engine was upside down (which is the only way they can be put in) and the gap was up then when the engine case was turned over they would have been at the bottom of the case and can result in a leak.
Also if a sealer like Honda-Bond was not used between the cases and seals this could also result in a leak.
However, all leaks move to the rear and bottom of the engine and where I find the most leaks are on the speedometer gear shaft seal.
Part #91208-551-015 the small oil seal.
Either this seal was not changed or the gear shaft is warn and not sealing.

Re: Drive flange seals wanted [1 Attachment]
Mings was the one who did the rebuild and I sent him a NOS seals that he said he installed so I'm believing it was all installed correctly. We've talked about the leak and he said sometimes even though they're new the "old" in new old stock creeps into play and may cause a leak.

[2cylinderhondas] Drive flange seals wanted
Has anyone used the drive flange seals from
Honda600carparts.com
with success and been leak free? I had NOS ones installed in my engine when it was recently rebuilt but I'm still getting some leaks. Or if anyone has another set of NOS ones id be interested in buying or trading for them.
Drive flange seals wanted
Hi Eric;
I think Tim did a great job and wouldn't have put the set ring up side down. There is another O ring in the differential flange #14 in the earlier attached picture. Some times these will unseat and I have had them leaking before too. But these are parts that should be changed out during a rebuild. You didn't mention which side the leak is on.

Re: Drive flange seals wanted
I believe both sides are actually leaking. More so on the passenger side. I need to clean the entire area again and take it for a spin and see where the oil is again. I can see oil sprayed on the fire wall where the inner cv axle is flinging it around.
That's why I think it's the flange area leaking. I'm taking the car for a road trip this weekend and will clean it very thoroughly when I return and take it for a spin and inspect and photograph.
Thanks for the help.
How hard is it to replace the o-rings and flange seals with the engine installed?
