Need help with Honda restoration

Post by Stephen Garth »

Below is the message I sent to Tim Mings who had been doing my engine and mechanical work for several years. Perhaps others on this list have suggestions. I am in the Los Angeles California rea.

Hi Tim.
Garth here. I am still interested in any contact you might think of for someone I might work with on keeping the engine in good shape. In October of last year I drove it again and it did not seem to be blowing smoke, so who knows?
I am having the body work done and I have a couple of questions. Did you sell all the Honda parts you had been keeping at the lot? Or do you still have some things for sale? Of course it would be great to have three of four oil filter change kits.
I would like to know about the rubber channel that encloses both the front windshield and the back panel glass. Do you know of a replacement? Also I need the plastic (rubber?) trim pieces that are on the outside of the windows in the doors.
At least I would like the contact information for the person who was doing the baked enamel rims for you and your customers. Also I have the hubcaps but one of them is badly damaged. Know of anyone who has a set?
Also if you have a contact you would like to recommend for re-chroming the bumpers, that would be nice. I understand there may be an equally effective treatment for restoring the bumpers that is not actual chrome but looks the same. A versin of baked enamel?
Anyway. Any help or suggestions you have are most welcome. Thank you so much.
sincerely,
garth
