Post by Skeeter »

I'm banging my head for missing out on a yellow '70 n600 that looked to
be in great shape. If anyone is selling please let me know. You can
email me at markb@.... Thanks!
By the way I'm in CA so the closer the better.

Don't hurt yourself - it seems that there are more 600s per capita on the
west coast than anywhere. Doesn't mean they're on every streetcorner, but
they're there.

Steve, you're so right.  But don't forget the Midwest, what has not been picked up and tosed around by weather is still out there.

Hello Mark,
I am in Northern California and I have a '71 N600 F/S.
Here are the rest of the photos;
http://pozzi.angryhosting.com/gallery/N600
detailed photos of any problem areas are here:
http://pozzi.angryhosting.com/gallery/N600_details
I looked of a street worthy N600 Sedan for over 5 years!
I finally came across this one in Carson City.
The previous owner had it stored properly in an airplane hanger, so it was high and dry for years.
He cleaned it up right before I purchased it in 2001.
it was a runner from the start.
it took a new battery, brake fluid flush and a new fan belt and it was set.
I drove it back and forth from work and used it to run around town to the store and back.
it was a solid car.
as you can see by the photos, it is in great shape overall, but it does have it's flaws for a 36 year old car.
In it's current condition, it is not running because the fuel pump died.
It has been sitting since late last summer.
the gas tank and fuel system will probably need to be drained and cleaned and the carb cleaned out as well.
the battery needs to be charged (or possibly replaced now).
it was last registered in Feb 2005 or 2006 so the registration needs to be brought current.
there is some rust along the bottom of the driver's side that will need to be addressed soon before it becomes cancerous.
it needs new door seals (like most of these cars do) but you can find replacement door seals through most parts stores.
the interior is in decent shape. the seats are intact but have a couple cracks on the seat bottom from their age.
the top of the back seat is sun rotten but it is patched with black cloth tape to keep it from getting any worse.
Because of the old door seals, the carpet got wet, so I have a piece of high quality black car carpet that will go with it, that just hasn't been cut or installed.
My original plan was to make it into a vintage racer but being that it is this complete, i couldn't bring myself to tear into it and add everything needed to race it.
I really hate to sell it, but we just had a baby, and we're also remodeling our house, so we need to cover some costs and I can't justify keeping it (even though my wife is set against it).
I am open to reasonable offers so take a look at the photos and let me know what you think.
The car is located in Placerville, which is in between Sacramento and S. Lake Tahoe on US50 (about half way between both).
If you're close enough and are interested in seeing it, just get in touch.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Nice car. I'm pondering it, but I'm really hoping to find something
local. I'll definitely keep you in mind. Thanks.

okay, just let me know.
i'm guessing you're in SoCal then?
i may be able to find a transport down there through an acquaintance
that makes regular runs to purchase/sell cars if he's got room on his
trailer/transporter.
if you're really interested, we can make this happen. :D
i need to pay for building permits and engineering on our house plans,
so funds are needed ASAP.
get in touch if you have any other questions.
