Shifter Knob

Post by tloch220 »

Hi,
I have been working on my Z600 Coupe and it did not come with a shifter knob.
I know it might be a bit of sacrilege for the purists, but I found that a 1952 - 1960 VW Beetle has the same thread count and shift pattern as the 1972 Z600.  And proportionally it is the right size (the generic shift knob I got from AutoZone was gigantic and made shifting into reverse very difficult).
Not perfectly accurate, but solved my issue (and it looks kinda cool in ivory with a black shift pattern engraved into it).
My best regards,
Thomas

I managed to obtain a very good reproduction roof extrusion from Civic Garage in Australia. Total cost w/shipping was about $80 (US) for enough for both sides and took about 3 weeks to get.  Make sure you get the Coupe strip material as they also have Civic material. Hope this helps.
