Battery size group / cca
What is the correct size for coupe?
Re: Battery size group / cca
The sedan or the coupe can use the 51 or 51R battery. Just depends on whether you want the battery terminals near the fender or near the engine.

The correct battery size is Group 45 for sedan and coupe. Same as the early civics

What do you mean by correct battery size is Group 45? I used to have coupes with the OEM batteries by Yuasa and they were a group 22NF. But good luck finding those batteries. The groups 22NF, 45, and 51 all seem to be within 1/4 inch of each other in size. And the Group 51 has the highest capacity (CCA). I suggest using the battery group which is most available in your area. And if you are restoring to original US condition, you need to find a Yuasa 22NF battery.

Re: Battery size group / cca
The 22NF I wasn't even going to mention. I used to buy those all the time at Ron's Battery down in San Jose. Don't forget the early coupes had tiny terminals too if you want to be really correct, I have a couple of those cables NOS with the 13mm terminal clamps.

Re: Battery size group / cca
Thanks to all for the info and history lesson! I have looked at several battery companies online and was surprised to see various dimensions for length, width, height for group 45. I was under the impression that the group number was the size?
