Folks I have Berkeley's SE492 with a twin cylinder motorcycle Honda engine in it. It has been sitting in my storage area gathering dust (something easy to do in Arizona) waiting for my return from my duty in Germany. Now that I am back I have been cleaning it up a bit and would like to get it on the road. The engine wiring has never been integrated into the Berkeley harness. I have the engine harness but am unsure which engine I have. From the greasy fingerprints I have found in the Honda workbooks that came with the car, I suspect that it is a 1980 CB 400 T engine. The serial number from the machined area on the top of the engine block under the right carburetor is NOOSE-2105638. The manuals have several wiring diagrams but all are a bit different from the other.
The conversion is very clean and well thought out; the suspension about 3 inches to increase the distance between the road and the bottom of the engine and exhaust system. Any information on the year and model of this engine would be appreciated. Thanks Harry

Re: Question on Honda 400 twin
Hi Harry Most everyone on this and the A N Z Yahoo Group site knows 2cylinder Honda 600's real well but not 2 cylinder bike stuff. Sorry to be of no help. I would think the 400 harness would be pretty simple to figure out, the most complex being the bike charging system and CDI to Berkeley fusion

Re: Question on Honda 400 twin
Hi Harry,
Do you have the # off the Engine??
a quick search on the old inter web should get you enough to be dangerous...
If you know it's a CB400 - try a Clymer or Bently Manual - but there are actual Honda Shop Manuals (Which are better) and a lot of these Twins are all very simular - all the way down to a 125 or 160 which Millions were made...
and there is a huge Honda 160 racer base out there - at least there is here in the NW...
You might even find one at the Lib. and not have to buy one...
Just my 2 cents..
Thanks, Steve

Re: Question on Honda 400 twin
Thanks Steve
I have spent about an hour on the Web looking for the break down of the serial number with no luck. Lots of information on where to find the engine number and a general breakdown (using XX's for the numbers) and lots of info on the break down of the VIN of the bike.
Then number of the engine is NOOSE-2105638 and I guess I will have to go to a dealer to get it decoded. I have both the Clymer and Bently manuals that do not break the engine number down. I only need verification of the year and model so that I use the right wiring diagram.
Thanks Harry
