That makes 2 Deans in Santa Cruz, the other Dean has a yellow coupe that he cherried out even though it was a mint 10,000 mile car with no flaws. He repainted it and chromed everything under the hood.

hi dale (goinhm@...) i just wired up my ignition switch and i didnt even need a jumper on my wiring harnace!!!! the dash now seems to work like it should. i dont know why the owner wired it up the way they did or why i did the way i did, but the wiring diagram that you gave me works great . thank you so much. dean

Hi Dean,
    Glad to hear you have things under control and working correctly.  Maybe a previous owner added the wiring for some extra lights.  I remember a period in the 1970s when people were adding fog lights to their cars.  When somebody doesn't want to be bothered with a wiring diagram or trying to figure out which wire does what,  the easy way is to tap into the wires at the ignition switch since how that works is usually intuitive for many people.
