I was turning to unlock the trunk and the key just kept going. When I
pulled out the key, the whole trunk lock cylinder came with it. So
now I have a locked trunk that is shut. Is there a way to open it,
and if so, how do I remove the trunk lock? Anyone have pictures or
figures to refer to? I looked through the manual but couldn't find
anything on this situation.
Thanks
-Marty

you should be able to stick a flat-blade #1(large) screwdriver in the hole and get it to open by engaging the latch mechanism and turning.

Marty,
If it's the green car the 2 wing nuts that hold the back set in are not
installed, the wing bolt at the bottom is but you can one of 2 things
do: Unscrew the back parcel tray - 2 phillips screws, then remove tray,
reach in with a flat blade screw driver and lift up on the tab part of
the trunk lock and the trunk will release. 2. Tweak the seat forward
and release the tab the same way. Send me your trunk key and I will
make you another lock.

I have another lock from the other car but can't figure out how to remove it to make the switch, the key I have now worked on both locks,
I'm going to try to mess with it some more on Saturday. Let me know if you have any pointers on removing the lock from the trunk.
As always,
Thanks

Re: trunk lock is broken and it is shut, anyway to open it up?
Easy once the trunk lid is open. There's a black clip that holds the
lock in. Slide it up and the lock will pull out. It's odd that the
core would fall out as there is no keeper wafer, there is a roll pin
that holds the cam to the back of the lock.
UP refers to up as if the trunk lid was shut !
