600 sedan roadster

Post by Miles »

If anyone wants to see a sedan made in to a convertible, stop by my
house this week. The former owner of the world famous Landis Automotive
in SLO (San Luis Obispo Ca) is bringing his car up for me to fix
electrical problems.
Landis Automotive was the central California mecca for Honda 600
repairs in the 1980's kind of like what Nakatsu Brothers in San Jose,
or Japanese Beetle Shop in Santa Clara was. When they folded there was
only a repair shop on Evelyn in Mountain View and Honda 600
Headquarters in Santa Clara (1981-1985).
This car has one of the very early 1967 or '68 600 *test* engines in it
with the Herringbone differential, Hawaiian head/cam/carb/exhaust. It
is not the twin carb head though. I worked on this car before back when
I lived in Santa Clara Ca around 1988 or 1989.
I will post some pics of it when it gets here.

Is Chris back in town? I thought he moved to Vegas (via Rio de Janeiro).
Tell him "Hi from Dave".

Hey You Guys! save your 600's they will rise again.
Attached is a picture of China's entry into the american auto market next year. They tried once before but the deal fell thru, Chrysler will bring them into the states.
NOTE! it looks a lot like a 600 on steroids! This came from the Washington Post 4th of July edition, business section
Enjoy, think of all the body transplants this car would be good for our Ol' 600's
like new stem cells for a disappearing breed.

Either my browser doesn't like your picture, or the attachment didn't come through. Is it
possible for you to post a photo in the photos section, or send the link? Thanks.
