Hi all,
How does one deal with the VIN number plate when installing a
dashboard? I would like to get my dash with a intact glove box into my
running '72 sedan but I can't legally swap the VIN plates, can I?
Thanks,
Jon
dash replacement/VIN number question
Re: dash replacement/VIN number question
you can drill out the old rivits and replace them with new ones to
swap the vin, since you are not swapping the vin on the car there is
no legallity involved, the same vin is with the car. Im not sure on
the sedan but i think the metal part on the dash where the vin mounts
to also comes off so you can just remove that and swap over. i know on
the copues the vin is only on the radio grill.

Yep, It's called repair. And all you do is drill out the poprivets and
rerivit the correct one in it's place.
