Larger diameter wheels

I kbow about using the mazda 13" wheels,and was wondering if there's
some 12" wheels that could be used? I would like to run higher overall
gearing for highway speeds! riceburner006

think you will have a very hard time getting 12" tires, i would just
run 13's with a lower profile tire if you want to cut down on the
diameter. will be alot cheaper also.

12" tires are easy to get because Geo Metros had 12". I put 13"
tires on my Geo Metro because there were limited tires for 12"
meaning no performance tires.
If you use 13" wheels with low profile tires, expect a very bumpy
ride. The give in a tire's sidewall is part of your suspension. I
drove 2 coupes with Pirelli P6 Low Pro tires, hit a bump and was in
the other lane! Mike had 13" tires on Dinky with stiff coil springs
and it wouldn't drive up a steep incline.
Expect to change your wheel bearings frequently also, undue stress
due to the wrong offset will kill the bearings.

Running smaller diameter tires equates to lower gearing and higher rpms, not higher gearing and lower rpms,i.e. better gas mileage for the same highway speeds. The 145R10 tires we run on are an 80 series tire, i.e. the sidewall is 80% of the width of the tire. These tires are 20 inches in diameter, nearly 63 inches in circumference. The 13" Mazda wheels would use a 50 series tire to maintain the 20" overall diameter. Installing a 185/60HR13 on a Mazda wheel would have a diameter of 21.8 inches and would decrease rpm 8 plus%. That's less than an inch difference in the radius of the tire, although I haven't tried it, they should fit OK. I run 20X9.5X13 Goodyear Eagle cantilever racing slicks on 7" wide wheels on my 81 RX7 in E prepared at SCCA SOLO events in NW Montana. A couple of years ago when I bought/brought my 71 Coupe home from Missoula I found out about the odd bolt pattern(4X110) for the wheels, and in as long as it took me to get the ladder in place and get the
Mazda racing slicks out of storage, they were mounted up on the coupe. They fit clearance wise better than on the RX7. On the RX7 I need 5/16" spacers to keep the slicks from rubbing the front struts. They fit perfect on the coupe. I'll post pictures of the Coupe with racing attire soon. I drive to the events from home on the slicks(3 miles round trip) and the speedo is showing a 25% error(60mph in 45mph traffic). The 20" tires revolve 1008.9 rpmile and the 21.8" tires turn 925.6 rpmile. Smaller than 20" diameter will give you better acceleration, larger than 20" will give you greater top speed and mileage but acceleration will suffer.

are running 145-70/12 or 165-60/12 tires. Now these are rare and
expensive,so I thought maybe a 145-r12 would work.These were used on
Subaru justy car. New 10"Kumho's are 19 1/4",OEM 5.20x10" 19
5/8",and the 145-R12 is supposed to be 21.05". I believe they would
work! Now,where can you get the right wheel to fit? I wouldn't even
bother with this,but since gas went up,everybody here is going much
faster on the highways! I'm pretty sure my car has the balls for a
taller gearing.(I'm able to pull away from stop in 2nd gear if i had
