my charging problem only seems to be getting worse :( still having

Post by infinkc »

First my car had a constant batt light on and the battery wasnt being
charged, i pulled out the Silicone Diodes and inspected them( black
thing under the battery that goes to the 3 white wires and back to the
battery), put it back in and another voltage regulator(not sure if it
was good or not) Tried to start my car and i hear no fuel pump!, My
10amp ignition fuse Blew (far right fuse, also does fuel pump, carb
soleniod, and voltage reg) , i disconnected the regulator and the fuse
didnt blow, i replaced back the original and the fuse blew! Did i do
something wrong? this car is killing me trying to fiugre out the
charging problem. Also what type of battery will fit?, where to get?
TIA

Take your fuse box off the car, one screw hold a sedan fuse box on.
I like to bead blast all the metal parts and connections but a wire
brush works too. You may have too much resistance (oxidization) on
the fuse contacts. Resistance causes the fuse to heat up and blow.
Replace all the fuses with new ones or clean all the ends.

thanks Miles for the tip, im assuming this will be the same for the
coupe? is there a reason why it would blow without the voltage
regulator hooked up? and why it never blew the fuse before until i
disconnected everything and then reconnected it? even with new fuses
the fuse still blows :(
