well, after viewing the previous posts about gas tanks and the "don't
use the chain inside method", I got paranoid and removed my gas tank
that has sat empty since 1979. fearing the worst I had already checked
on pricing and was ready to take it to the radiator shop for a good
cleaning. lo and hehold, after emoving the sending unit I peered
inside to see the the shiny interior with nary a speck of rust! whew!
now the questions arise.
1. where can I get a new sending unit gasket
2. what kind of sealer can I use on the sending unit to replace the
red stuff
3. since my vent pipe broke and was brittle, what is a good replacement
*with the woodburner blazing in a big open shop, it sure gets cold
down by the floor at 18 degrees!!
