Re: windshield seals

Post by a65tigrr »

A 73-79 VW Super Beetle gasket will fit on a N600 windshield and is the same style. I have one for mine but it is not installed in the car, so I cant say 100% for sure it will work. A VW gasket is less than $10, so its worth atry.

I shipped a windshield from a BMW 700 Cuope a few
years ago. We used a bicycle box from a packaging
store and a lot of cushioning around it. It was about
$100 to ship from Seattle to New York. The N600
windshield is smaller with less curve and might be
easier to pack. I bought it because it was a local
auction and I could just pick it up.
No worries about not buying my car. It will sell at
some point.

Re: windshield seals

Post by Lyle »

If you look at the cross cut of a VW windshield seal and a Honda 600 seal you will see the difference.  They are a whole different seal.  The VW seal is wider across the outer sealing edge.

when I have to send a windshield to someone, I go to the local PPG warehouse
and get a windshield box from them. I have not had one break yet, and cut
down so it will make it through USPS parcel post.

Hey everyone. I have a 71 sedan im parting out. its rusty and interior is shot. (smells like dead animals) nasty. if anyone needs anything I will help as best I can just ask. I'm located in milwaukee so most things will have to be shiped because I know of only a handful of theses beauties here in all of Wisconsin. thanks all and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! James

James:
I own and drive one of the very few AN600s in Canada. They were not
sold here at all. My car is a '71 with over 100,000 miles on it. It was an
original California car.
Over time some of the parts were lost -removed if not needed to keep
it going. I'd like to get it back closer to original. I need:
The heater heat exchange box (I have all the other heater parts)
A dome light
The fresh air vent interior door on the right kick panel
A correct headlight switch
the fuel fill door (mine is rusted thru)
A pair of tail light lenses ( mine were painted red) I have found
a way to reglass the red lense and only need 2 lenses that are not broken
Please advise avauilability and cost. thank you in advance. mike
