Hi to everyone. I just got a 72 z600 coupe. I have worked on Hondas for a dealership for 13 yrs, and believe it or not had never seen one before in real life. Had to have it. It Looks pretty good. No rust to speak of and runs ok but is sluggish above 3000 rpm's If anyone has tips about what weak areas they have or charachteristics, I'd be appreciative. Thanks Jeff

Jeff,
Congrats on the "new" coupe. You have definately come to the right place. If you need manuals, one place to go is my website, www.honda600coupe.com . See the "collection of documents" page. I suspect that one or more folks here will have some advice on your "sluggish" issue.
Good luck,
Steve

Re: First time 2 cyl owner
Thanks steve. I would love some help with the sluggish running
I did buy a service manual from dealer. Still available as a print on demand basis. took about 2 weeks to get is all. It really isn't much of a manual though.

Re: sluggish over 3000 --------- First time 2 cyl owner
Check the mechanical timing and the points gap and electrical timing,
valve adjust, and sometimes aftermarket condencers give poor spark.
Check carb float level - should be 3/4 full when you lower float bowl
while holding carb in your hand. There's a real way to set the float,
listed in the shop manual. Dirty fuel filter? it's under your back
seat.

Thank you Miles. I have done everything listed, except I did install a aftermarket condensor. I will get oem and give that a shot. Will let you know how I make out

Jeff, I remember I once had a similar problem after a rebuild. I had
managed to get the cam off one tooth. Might be worth looking at if
nothing else shows up. Bill
