Honda N & Z lowering kit

Post by dealadayray »

Hi Jose;
    Not to take away from the Kit but a while back I did an engine rebuild, brakes, and lowered this Coupe 2 inches- This pre-digital camera picture below was taken before the owner finished the body work.  I thought you might like to see a Coupe Lowered.
   I pulled the front struts disassembled them and cut two coils off, put it back together and went to a spring manufacturer for longer U bolts for the rear axle and by placing a 2 inch aluminum block between the Spring and the Axle (this puts the axle 2 inches into the wheel well) lowered the rear.  Then a hole must be drilled through the block for the leaf spring center bolt to lock it to the retaining plate along with the longer U bolts.  Cost was a bit less than a kit, but takes some tinkering.  The Owner, owns a Go Kart track up in the Los Angeles area.  He never did say what he was going to do with it.  But the engine had 1.0 over pistons, angle port heads and headers with dual exhaust (Cherry Bomb mufflers) made it sound quiet at the light but touch the peddle and it filled the the street with thunder.  And, yea it put young grins on both of us.
