Yippee! Spring is in the air down here in New Zealand.
I have finally managed to visit my local panel beater who is currently
working on a 56 ford pickup. He does great work and in November he will be
working on my little Honda. Have now got a bare shell rolling on a spare
axle and front subframe. I just need to remove the dash and the headlining.
I think there are some hints, buried in the forum pages, on how to remove
the headlining material but if anyone has some tips I'd love to hear them!
There are some minor rust patches to address but the most will be stripping
and prepping the shell for paint. A solid red as close to the Honda colour
as possible.
Have one NOS door and two front fenders to use which is nice! The front and
rear valances (rocker panels?) will also be replaced with NOS.
Anyway watch this space! Hopefully by February I should have a painted shell
ready to bolt all my restored/ NOS parts too!
Parts include NOS lights front and rear, NOS windscreen/ badges/ wipers/
locks/ rubber& insert trim. Can't wait!
Will also be hunting down a suitable Registration plate.
Watch my site for updates just before Xmas!
Feels great to get renewed enthusiasm on my project after a long winter of
little work!
Hope to be posting more messages soon!
Regards from The Land of the Long White Cloud!

Hey, James:
Congrats on getting some nice weather! Coincidentally, my company just sold a 1949 Buick convertible to a bloke from New Zealand, and it's being shipped there as we speak. He's from an area he says is north of Auckland (Whangarei!), so keep an eye out for a pastel green big Buick if you're ever up that way!!
