Like to get 45hp kit
Re: Like to get 45hp kit
What is the major differences between the 45 hp kit and the standard? Is the U.S motor different from the european version?
thanks.
thanks.
Re: Like to get 45hp kit
From what I've read the 45 HP cars (w/ standard transmissions) had:
A "Y" head (the exhaust came out at an angle, like a "Y")
A different cam (the blue Honda Shop manual shows different cam specs for a "European" model - different duration, change in overlap.)
You lose the heater also - since the exhaust is different. Don't believe there is any difference between pistons on the models.
Hotter cams (than the Euro one) are available, and I really don't know how much difference the head makes. (I have one of each on the shelf - may flow bench them if my sponsor will let me at his bench for an afternoon.)
At one point there was a 667cc kit (or something like that) available - aftermarket. HP? Don't know.
Bill might know differently about this - I think he said all automatic '600s where 45 HP, and that he has one.
