Miles, Richard and Bill,
Thanks for all the good suggestions on fixing my fuse-blowing problem. It
seems I have a bit of maintenance to do. I just got a digital camera (to
replace the one that had the unfortunate meeting with the pavement) and if I
find anything interesting I will post pictures.
Bill, what is the issue with "larger gauge wire"?

Hi Steve;
The wire on the engine side of the fuse box you will note is of a heaver
gauge than say the wire going to your dash lights. Heavier because it
carries more amps than the bulbs. Normally they feed your body harness and
starter along with the 4 way flashers. Up in front the 3 stator wires often
try to get to gather on the job, melting the insulation and causing a dark
feeling in your gut as you try and pull it apart. It's best to look at all
of it now, place extra insulation, free the rusted bolts holding your ground
wires (under the coil). The ground strap from your battery to your engine
normally grounds to the body under the coil mount. Corrosion here normally
makes other wires try and meet the negative battery cable width. Everything
effects the outcome.
