You can use the front VW Bug with ball join, 1969 to 1971.

I put a pair of rear shocks from a vw bug, 1971 model with the
ball joint suspension. They work great, and were only 13 bucks each.

And as Nick said they work well, require some modification but should help
the front end problems a lot.

Rear shocks

Post by GRINDKILL »

I dont have a specific shock part number, as there are a few
different brands. Just asks for front shocks, (I purchased gas
charged) for a 1971 VW beetle with the torsion bar, and ball-joint
front suspension. They are a little stiff at first, but break in
well, and give a great ride.

I don't see how they would even fit! They look like shocks for a
full size car! Lower mount too wide, and dust shield too large in
diameter. Part man guru said it doesn't specify whether it has ball
joints or not-all the same. That was at napa. Also checked at a
large chain store junk shop! Sorry,if you don't give me the year and
model,I can't help you!! riceburner006
