I am still searching for a set of M10 X 50 lug nuts for my Mazda Rx7 wheels but so far no luck. If I end up having to go to 1.25 studs I will, but would rather not have to go to the effort. My question is do the 600 studs (the parts manual calls them bolts, wheel setting) press out? The pictures in the parts manual show a non-threaded shoulder. I pulled the front wheel and it looks like threads all the way to the wheel side of the front hub (page 6-2 parts 36 and 2). I don't want to press if they are threaded. TIA for your knowledge.

Lug Nuts
Re: Lug Nuts -
They press out and the Geo studs press in perfectly. If you don't
have a press you can screw on a nut and pound out. Pull them back in
with a nut and 1 or 2 washers, by tightening the nut or press in or
pound in but always seat them by pulling in with a nut. Mike O was
having the special lug nuts produced, ask him about them.
For anyone who has the Posi-Traction Mags...Center caps are easily
aquired and this is what was used originally: Electrical Box Plugs
about 2" diameter. I have one NOS cap with the original decal on it.
I can scan it if anyone wants to make the decals.

Lug Nuts
The wheels made by PosiTraction & Shelby use special shouldered lug
nuts. I made one from stainless but it took so long to make I quit
after the 1, I was making 16 for another owner for $10ea. Ask Mike
OConnor - I think he had some made by another machinist.
Bill gave me a bucketload of the original nuts but were threaded 3/8"-
24 for Austin Minis. I rethreaded some to 10x1.5 for my own use and
drove them for a year until I sold the wheels.

Re: Lug Nuts
On the subject of lug nuts; I believe it was a GEO Metro that had the same
thread and pitch 10mm X 1.5. There were a number of lugs that were for
after market applications for the Metro. For the rims that needed the
shouldered lugs Miles speaks of, there are inserts that can be put into the
mag wheel. But you lose 5 or 6 threads when changing them to a insert and
bolting them on.
Another way is to use the 12mm studs miles had a while back. Once in, there
are a whole world of lugs available.

Re: Lug Nuts Part Numbers
The lug nuts I supplied were for 1993 Geo Metro which is what I had
at the time. Chrome acorns and 10mm stude with 1.25 thread pitch.
Dorman is the brand name and here's the part numbers: Stud 610308
$1.65ea, Nut 611064 $1.28 each (3 years ago prices). The studs are
identical to Honda 600 in size, just thread pitch is wrong.
