Oil & Grease

Post by timk11 »

I use 20/50 for all year California Driving, I also use Slick 50.
Don't use a Graphite oil, it plugs the oil passages- I saw 1 engine
get lunched from that stuff. I had one customer only let me put in
Torco Synthetic and I had another who was religious about Syntec
($6/qt) and Torco is $$ also. Slick 50 is pretty cheap these days $12-
19.00 in a pack with 4 quarts of Pennzoil or Quaker State. I put the
10/40 in another vehicle, 1 qt Slick 50 & 2 qt Castrol 20/50. Never
tried Dura-Lube, but I'd say find something you like.
On the points rubbing blocks I like to use Super-Lube in a tube or
Sil-Glyde otherwise the points gap will close up.
CV Boots get CV Moly Grease, wheel bearings get Slick 50 grease.
There's only 1 grease zirc on the car - steering rack.
