Paint Match - Help

Post by ardenslaw »

Greetings Gang:
I am having some difficulty matching the paint on my 72 600 coupe. I
think I had this problem when I repainted the car about 15 years ago
but not sure. I think I remember having a match problem then and got
it custom mixed. I am pretty sure it is supposed to by Tawny
Yellow. As I understand it this is a bright yellow color. There is
apparently are only two yellow colors listed during these years
according to the paint data base. The other is a much lighter
yellow. Knowing this a got the Tawny yellow mixed up. The color is
no where near the yellow color and has a tint of brown to it. I
think the guys mixed it up correctly but who knows. Just to be sure
I had the Light Spring Yellow mixed up (a small portion) and this is
the very light color and also not correct.
Anybody out there been down this road before or can help me?
Cheers,
Brian Thomas

By the way, anybody have a hood for sale?

Hello Brian,
Sorry, but I can't help you with the paint but I do have a hood for sale. It is dent free and has some light rust on the inside. If you like I can send some pics.
