Honda 600 bike engine transplant

Post by Bill and Coleen »

Hi Mark,
Being a retired Master auto tech, I had a dream, or nightmare, about how
to solve the biggest problem of re-powering with a Foward speed only
high horsepower motorcycle engine. Go ahead and put it in, however you
do that! Direct drive using the Motorcycle's stout clutch, trans and
gearing up front. I think the AZ600 trans would explode if you put 120
HP through it! Then for reverse "gear", get a "wheel motor" for one or
two of the back wheels. Wheel motors are basicly electric motors built
into the back wheel and tire assembly. You will only be using it for
very short distances so you won't need any extra batteries. Add a switch
on the dash for "reverse only" and voila! Done! Gee, guess it would be a
Hybrid then!
Check them out at:

These would be way too powerful for what you'd need but you get the
idea! Maybe just one of the motorcycle ones would do?
Have fun!
